"EVERYONE LIFE MATTERS"

(NOTE: THIS IS THE FIRST ARTICLE TOTALLY IN EGLISH TO SEND THE MESSAGE TO THE MOST)

Let's begin with a definition:

racism

    1. a belief that race is primary determinant of human traits and capacities that racial differences produce and inherentsuperiority of a particular race

2a.   a doctrine or political program based on the asumption of racism and designed to execute its principles

2b. a political or social system founded on racism

     3. racial prejudice or discrimination

The reason I'm typing this blog is caused by one phrase: "BLACK LIVES MATTER".

The incident ocurred in last May, where four policemen were arresting a black male, without any reason, and that one of the uniformed made pressure on the arrested neck. The arrested yelled "I can't breath... I can't breath". The guard was observed by three colleagues and none of them do anything to stop this action. After the person was transferred by ambulance to a hospital in Minneapolis, MN, he was pronounced death. The main cause of death wasn't let him to breath.

After his death, large groups of people (most without masks and keeping distance due to COVID-19) around the world began protests in many ways, from simple marches; to ignite in fire the police station, where the policemen work for. Now destroying monuments, igniting flags and carrying the infamious phrase "BLACK LIVES MATTER".

Now it's time for some History review:

1 - Columbus never brought slaves to America. All what he did is to carry some "Taíno" Indians to Queen Isabella of Castille. The queen was felt  "horrified" saying they looked slaves. Instead, she told Columbus to return them to the West Indies.

2 - Juan Ponce de León never brought slaves to the Caribbean. He came to the island in 1508, met with chief Indian "Agueybaná", built the first city "Caparra" as capital. Went and returned many times from Spain, he never, never, ever brought slaves to America. He died when he heard of the "Youth Fountain" in Florida in 1521.

Slaves were brought into USA on XVI century by Spaniards and British. After Slavery Abolition (1865), with the 13th. Amendment. Unfortunately, Blacks still being seen as slaves for a century (1964), with the Mall filled of people expecting the famous Martin Luther King, Jr. message beginning with "I have a dream...". Slavery was officially abolished in 1992 in Jackson, MS.

I cannot explain to myself "Why every time things like this happen, all Black Community have to turn violent?" And I used violent because on the decades of MLK, Malcolm X, Medgar Evers, Rosa Parks, Blacks and Whites still separate.

From 1970's to present, you have to be proud that Blacks have well presence in almost every state, every area and every field of work. Government, Communications, Media, and particularlly, in Sports.

Racism is not a one-way street. It runs on both directions (Left-Right and Right-Left). Whites against Blacks, and Blacks against Whites. With the phrase used in your protests, you demonstrate that. ("BLACK LIVES MATTER").

I'm White, Hispanic and Puerto Rican. I'm not a racist. The purpose of this writing is "Respect to be Respected" and that "EVERYONE LIFE MATTERS", regardless their origin, sex, color and orientation.

The best way to improve this is "EVERYONE LIFE MATTERS"

And, as I usually finished my blogs:

"WILL CONTINUE....." (with another blog)
